Participant

Someone taking part in a project or event.

Participatory arts

A term used to describe activities that involve people in the community in the process of making art.

Partners

Any individual, group or organisation that has worked with you on your project, event or activity.

Performance indicators

A term often used in local government and larger organisations, performance indicators are a way of measuring how well an organisation is meeting its aims. Performance indicators are similar to targets.

Person specification

Usually partnered with a job description, a person specification is a detailed list of the skills, experience, knowledge and abilities that a person would need to perform a specific job.

Photo-call

An opportunity for a photographer to take photographs of your organisation or activity.

Pilot

A small-scale trial of a project which, if successful, will then be repeated in a different area or on a larger scale.

Press release

Information clearly written for print in magazines, journals or newspapers to advertise your project.

Private sector

A term used to refer collectively to organisations whose main aim is to make a profit.
