Data Protection Act

The Data Protection Act contains regulations that you must act upon if you or your organisation hold any information identifiable to another person, including names, contact details or any other personal information. It also covers your rights as an individual to access information held by other people about you. For more information visit the Information Commissioner's Office website http://www.ico.gov.uk/

Deficit

If an organisation, project or individual spends more money than they have, the overspend is called a deficit.

Delegating

Distributing work amongst a team or to another person.

Distribution list

A distribution list (also sometimes called a mailing list) is a list of contacts where information about projects or activities are sent. If you hold a distribution or mailing list you must abide by the Data Protection Act when dealing with people’s information.

Documentation

Evidence about a project. This could include photographs, registers, questionnaires or recordings of performances.
