Applying for funding is all about being clear about what you want to do and making sure you find a suitable funder whose aims match those of your project

Allow a minimum of SIX months from the day you send your funding application to the first day of your project. Most funders take an average of three months to respond to funding requests. Time is required to receive and spend funds or to apply for funds from other sources if first applications were unsuccessful. Some funders have deadlines that need to be taken into account. Most funders do not fund projects that have already started.

What can Arts Development do to support you?

We provide fundraising support to individuals, organisations and projects involving the arts, where their work has potential benefit for people in Slough.

We are unable to support individuals, organisations or projects where the proposed activity or project:

  • does not involve the arts
  • has no potential benefit for people in Slough
  • is for profit making purposes and that profit has no extended benefit for the community of Slough

We can support you by:

  • Researching funding sources and helping you to decide which is the most appropriate for your project
  • Helping you to develop and draft a funding application
  • Acting as a referee for applications that we have supported

We ask in return that you:

  • Show us a copy of the final version of the bid before sending it
  • Inform us of the outcome of the bid
  • Complete our evaluation form
  • Send us a copy of your own evaluation of the project once it is completed
  • Acknowledge us in your publicity, marketing and correspondence, with the line ‘supported by Arts Development, Slough’ and if appropriate, the Slough Borough Council logo.

Applying for arts funding is a competitive process. We can support you to write your own funding applications but this is no guarantee of success of the bid.
