UK trusts and foundations give approximately £2 billion in grants each year to charity.
Trusts often have very specific rules about what they will and will not fund. Trusts may also have specific deadlines for applications based on when their trustees meet. Trusts may have a specific arts focus or they may have more specific charitable aims. Many funders supply funding for specific groups, such as young, older or disabled people. Others target areas such as education, social inclusion or preserving heritage. Individuals, groups or projects using the arts to address these issues, may find these more general sources of funding of interest.
