Arts Council England run a scheme, funded by the National Lottery called Grants for the Arts. Their grants are for individuals, arts organisations and other people who use the arts as part of their work.

You can now submit your application to Grants for the Arts online using their online application, which has the benefits of helping you ensure your application is complete, submit material of up to 10MB and ensures your application reaches Arts Council England immediately.

Grants to individuals normally range from £200 up to a total of £30,000 but they award larger grants for major projects. Grants to organisations usually range from £200 up to a total of £100,000. Most grants are under £30,000. You can also apply for grants to cover national touring.

Applications of £10,000 or less take six working weeks to process and applications of more than £10,000 take 12 working weeks to process.

Activities must have a potential benefit to the public and there are no deadlines.
