Rebecca Cairns - Community Arts Manager

Rebecca has been with the Slough Borough Council for eight years. Her career in the arts has involved working for Tate Britain, the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and the Crafts Council, but it was Slough’s impressive reputation for community arts that first drew Rebecca to Arts Development. Rebecca enjoys working with the community to take a seed of an idea and transform it into a project, and is immensely proud of the projects she has helped to deliver in Slough. Rebecca has a wealth of experience working with artists to develop their skills and practice. Her background is in Art History and she is a trained curator, skills she uses to help artists understand how to exhibit their work and present their portfolios. With a keen eye for design, her creative passions include photography and ceramics.

To contact with Rebecca email rebecca.cairns@slough.gov.uk or telephone 01753 875576.

Louise O’Dwyer Barnard - Arts Development Officer

Louise has been part of the team since leaving university in 2004, becoming Arts Development Officer in 2007. Since joining the team Louise has developed strong skills in working with the community to help them develop projects and raise funds. She has also developed a bizarre and unnatural love of evaluation. Louise’s background is in literature and she enjoys writing and editing and in 2005 took on the challenge of this website, which she still manages. Louise is also a jewellery maker and her experience in community arts is helping her to develop her own practice as an artist.

Louise will be on maternity leave from Monday 22nd of March 2010 and will return to the team in February 2011.
