We work closely with partners to ensure that the arts in Slough have the best grounding, resources and connections. You can find more information here about some of our partners, what they do and how we work with them.

Arts Council England

Arts Council England is the national development agency for the arts. It is divided into regions and Slough is covered by Arts Council England South East.

Arts Council England are regular trainers on the Community Arts Training Scheme and we work with them on major projects, developing networks and shaing information through the Berkshire Arts Partnership.

Berkshire Arts Partnership

This is a partnership of local authority arts officers in Berkshire that come together to work on joint projects and strategic planning across the county. The partnership includes officers from Bracknell, West Berkshire, Reading, Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead.

 

Christine Wilkinson

Christine Wilkinson is a visual artist who works with many local and regional schools, local authorities, arts groups, voluntary organisations and community groups. Christine developed the Community Arts Training in Scheme (CATS) course with Arts Development, which she co-delivers. She has also worked with the team on several publications including Art &People and Slough Inspired and has been involved in co-developing training for artists.

 

Creative Academy

Creative Academy is a creative industries development service offering a wide range of showcasing, training and employment opportunities underpinned with creative career information and advice. They support local individuals, freelancers and small medium enterprises to gain successful employment in the creative industries while developing new and innovative programmes to address gaps in local skills.

Creative Junction

Creative Junction delivers the Creative Partnerships programme in the Thames Valley. Creative Partnerships is an initiative set up by Arts Council England to give school children the opportunity to learn creatively. Slough is one of three Creative Partnerships areas in the South East.

Creative Partnerships work to link artists with teachers from all areas of the curriculum and set-up research projects to further the bounds of creative learning for young people. It is not a funding body but aims to establish genuine partnerships to enable the development of projects that reflect the specialisms and shared interests of those involved.

Slough Council for Voluntary Service (SCVS)

Slough Council for Voluntary Service logo

Slough Council for Voluntary Service provides help for local people who want to form voluntary groups and guidance to existing groups. They provide help in the form of fundraising information, community development, training and governance support. Arts Development works with SCVS to provide support for new and existing voluntary groups to use the arts in their work.

Slough Young People's Centre (SYPC)

SYPC is a creative center fpr young people aged 13-25 based on Slough High Street. SYPC run a programme of creative activities ranging from dance to music technology through their Afterhours Academy.

The West Wing

West Wing arts centre logo

The West Wing is Slough's arts centre. It has a fully accessible auditorium with 250 seats, full audio and visual equipment, an exhibition space and bar/cafe.

The West Wing provides a platform for individuals and groups that we work with to perform and exhibit their work.
